Like most of you visiting this website, and especially taking the time to read this, I’ve been a huge fan of true crime for most of my life. I suspect more than a few of you are also fascinated by folklore, legends, supernatural occurrences, endless Area 51 speculations, government conspiracy theories (no matter how wild or irrational they might seem), and, of course, haunted houses and UFO sightings/alleged abductions – I am too.
The Deep Dive Mysteries website, along with the corresponding social media channels, its YouTube channel, and its dedicated podcast, all exist now as the culmination of my own personal fascinations with these and similar topics. Through most of my life, I have voraciously devoured content in these and similar areas, and while a lot of it was good and informative as well as being visceral and emotionally evocative, more than a little of it left me feeling flat, and often gave me more questions than it answered. The complete Deep Dive Mysteries multimedia conglomerate is my vision of how serious and legitimate journalism should address these topics and present them to those with the same fiery passion for this type of content that I have.
My name is Kurt Dillon. I obtained two Master’s degrees: one in Forensic Psychology and one in English Literature with an emphasis in Journalism, from Columbia University in New York City. First, I need to be clear that while some of the topics and content you’ll encounter on this site are meant strictly for entertainment purposes, there is also a substantial amount of serious content dedicated to true crime cold cases, actual missing persons cases, and more than a few comprehensive pieces that focus on highly technical advancements in forensic science, evidence gathering practices, DNA examination, and, my own personal new fascination: genetic genealogoy forensics.
It is my sincerest desire that this body of content will at least begin to satiate that hunger within you – the same hunger I’ve had my entire life.
The vast network of vehicles I’ve created to support this content and distribute it to the world is my effort to gain support for the endeavor. Not just financial support (although financial support is very important). The investigations behind this content, as well as the production and distribution of it, takes a lot of labor hours and the assistance of other highly trained individuals, each of which costs real money. However, advertising revenue is based almost exclusively on the amount of unique views, shares, and the average time visitors to the site pages spend, reading and clicking around on it. So if you can’t afford to help Deep Dive Mysteries through financial means, you can absolutely help support us by spending time on the site, clicking on ads, and interacting with us on social media through likes, emojis and comments. We also have an incorporated e-store built into this site, where you can browse and purchase some awesome swag to support the site as well, but above all else, please spread the word. If you enjoy the site, I invite you to get in on the conversations behind these intriguing stories by joining our Facebook group: Deep Dive Mysteries – and inviting other like-minded friends and family members to join as well – let’s make a buzz!
At the bottom of this post, as well as at the bottom of every page of the website, there are links to all of our social media accounts on each platform, as well as a link to our Patreon account for those who can and want to help support this endeavor financially. Whichever method you choose, I sincerely appreciate and thank you. Your support is priceless. Please feel free to interact with me on any of our social media platforms or even by emailing me personally at: kurtd@deepdivemysteries.com with any comments, questions, or concerns you may have about the nature of the content, how we present it, or even with ideas for stories you’d like to see us cover in the future. While this site is my vision, I created it to fuel your passions for this content just as much as my own, so please don’t hesitate to interact.
Thank you for being a valued consumer of our specific brand of information and the driving force behind my latest creation.
See you in the chats,
Kurt
